Frequently asked questions
Your trip may be affected by the war in Iran and the accompanying uncertainties about the situation in the Middle East. Do not make any cancellations on your own. When cancelling your trip you should always contact your tour operator, the airlines and, if applicable, the (online) travel agent first regarding the reimbursement of any costs.
- Cost: If you should then still incur costs, you can register your claim with us online.
- Emergencies: For medical emergencies abroad, please call +41 58 277 77 77.
Benefits relating to the war in Iran are excluded from policies taken out after 28 February 2026.
We're sorry that something has happened. Just tell us all about it online:
- Select and complete form.
- Upload documents.
- Check details and send.
- We’ll check that we have all the information we need and get back to you.
You don't need to do everything right away on the day it happens.
Important points:
- Take photos or videos straight away.
- Secure the evidence.
- Inform the police, if necessary.
Report the claim to us as soon as you have all the documentation. That will avoid the need for queries and delays. If you're not sure about anything, our claims hotline (0844 277 888) is here for you 24/7.
Let us know about the claim as quickly as possible as we'll need to send an expert out to inspect the damage. Someone from CSS will come and view the extent of the damage and assess the situation. It's important not to get rid of any items at this stage.
That depends on the damage. You can see on the claim form exactly what is required. This can often be:
- proof of purchase
- list of damage
- photos of damage
- cost estimate for repairs
Property damage means that something is broken or damaged. For example, a piece of furniture, (sports) equipment or some other object in your home. Burglary, fire, water and theft are common causes.
Personal injury means someone is injured or gets sick. For example, following an accident, a fall or a mistake made by someone else.
You unintentionally break something that belongs to someone else. For example, you drop a smartphone or a removal box. Your liability insurance pays for the damage.
