Vitamins and polyphenols

Not only does this mocktail taste fantastic, but its healthy ingredients make it especially recommendable.

Vitamin C

Grapefruit is an excellent source of vitamin C. Just 100g contains around 40mg of the vitamin, meaning a whole fruit can cover your daily requirement.

Polyphenols

Grapefruit and ginger are rich in valuable secondary plant compounds from the polyphenol group, with grapefruit being particularly high in flavonoids. These have an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and heart-protective effect. They can also help lower cholesterol, strengthen the immune system and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as cancer and diabetes.

Gingerols

Ginger is especially rich in gingerols, which not only have anti-inflammatory properties but also relieve pain and act as antioxidants. Gingerols also support cardiovascular health.

Caution when taking medication

The bitter compounds in grapefruit slow down the breakdown of certain medications in the liver. This can prolong or intensify their effectiveness. Since this reaction can occur with some delay, it’s recommended to leave at least three days between consuming grapefruit and taking medication. If you're on medication, we advise you to consult your doctor to check for possible interactions.
